PROJECTS
Each crafted with a singular purpose: Be fearless
“I don’t just design garments - I tell stories through thread, texture, and spirit. My work is a reflection of identity, culture, and the beauty of being seen.” -Yasmeen J
JAMES JOINT SET
Inspired by the soft, hazy sensuality of Rihanna’s James Joint, this closing look embodies quiet power and deliberate grace.
A strapless paneled denim gown anchors the design, its lace-up corset back cinched with gold grommets that trace the hips to sculpt the silhouette. Elongated back panels spill into an exaggerated train, while camel-brown contrast stitching highlights every seam—letting the craftsmanship speak for itself. Layered above, a structured denim bolero with sharp sleeves and a Mongolian-inspired collar balances strength with elegance, echoing the silhouette first introduced in Look 6. The finishing touch: a denim waist bag, repurposed from the gown’s excess hem—transforming remnants into utility, and softness into structure.
THE COLOR OF PEACE
Three-Piece Set – The Color of Peace
A powerful trio: draped halter crop top, structured denim waist belt, and patchwork mermaid skirt — crafted from joyful, mixed materials. Deep blue denim anchors the look, accented with textured leather, gold grommets, and lace-up details for strength and style.
The mermaid skirt combines six natural fabrics — cotton-linen, textured cotton, raw silk, raw silk chiffon, and cotton-silk — all hand-dyed with indigo, cutch, and marigold to form a radiant, earthy palette of healing, pride, and peace. Each panel is cut in the shape of the African continent, turning the silhouette into a moving statement of identity.
A labor of time, care, and love — made to be worn with presence.
